Project Descripition.

The unit at Bidston Moss was a large WAP unit which contained a lthw coil, which was served via 560kW of gas fired boilers and had reached end of life having served the store for 20+ years.

Working alongside one of our trusted partners, INTOHEAT designed the new plant to incorporate a new source of heat via a heat pump system so we could reduce the load on the boilers to allow for partial decarbonisation.

To achieve this, 3no. Large 513A heat pump units were designed and built to connect to the new dx coils situated in each of the three zones within the new AHU.

The main challenge for this project was finding space to site all the equipment on an existing store and carrying the works during the winter months. Works consisted of the management of ventilation systems, craneage and transportation, controls, electrics and new refrigeration pipework.
