Project Descripition.

Following on from the successful delivery of the 2019 Air Handling Replacement Rollout for our valued retail client, INTOHEAT were delighted to be awarded a further 12 months of projects – offering us a minimum of 13no sites.

The stores ranged from Irvine, which sits on the Firth of Clyde coast in Scotland, down to Ferndown, located immediately to the north of Bournemouth – circa 8 hours or 460+ miles apart.

At the time of tender few were aware of the impacts a global pandemic would have. The arrival of Coronavirus coupled with its staying power for the duration of this rollout, brought a change in ways of working. Despite offering an exceptional level of communication at all levels, the team excelled in the timely completion of construction phase plans to the managing consultants, whilst providing regular updates to those on the ground who it would likely affect most; retail colleagues and customers. COVID-19 protocols in conjunction with the ever-changing Construction Leadership Council’s site operating procedures were introduced, resulting in additional toolbox talks, face covering requirements, use of sanitiser, single travel to name but a few.

On every project it was critical that the level of disruption to the store was kept to a minimum during all seasons – although especially more so during colder periods. Taking this into consideration, the lifts were conducted on evenings / weekends ensuring the clients customers continued to enjoy a satisfactory shopping experience.

The design and installation of crash deck scaffolding systems in-store were necessary, a process managed by INTOHEAT Health and Safety accredited site personnel. Encountering low ceilings and limited space within aisles, INTOHEAT guaranteed all aisles were able to trade during store operating hours.

All projects offered their own respective variances but INTOHEAT were delighted to hand over all projects within the clients cost and delivery boundaries.
