Full Store Decarbonisation Site – Barry

Appointed as Principal Contractor, INTOHEAT collaborated with the client’s respective engineering and store management teams during both the preliminary and construction phases, to ensure health & safety and store comfort were at the forefront of our thoughts.

Works comprised of the supply and installation of a new main sales air handling unit, fed from both new external R513a heat pumps, sourcing free heat from the sites existing refrigeration packs. Following review of the stores water consumption and energy expenditure, the existing gas fired water heater was replaced with point of use electric units. Replacement ventilations systems were installed within the stores partner areas by means of heat recovery, complete with building management system upgrades. The removal of redundant plant was programmed with the store’s key stakeholders, consisting of the safe lifting, removal and transportation of 23no items of plant from site.

Seasonal changes were reviewed prior to starting the works, enabling us to plan works prudently and eliminate trade effecting temperatures resulting in a positive outcome for store partners and stakeholders alike.
