Priory Road Lecture Theatre
Educational Case Study
This project comprised the delivery of a new but traditional (didactic teaching) 450 seat lecture theatre as part of the Universities Priory Road development near the main precinct of the campus.
This was a single building on a standalone basis in the grounds of one of the University building gardens. The building had a unique ‘Blue Roof’ where rainwater storage is provided in the roof system while allowing a green roof to grow and help provide thermal mass to the building to act as comfort moderator internally for occupants.
A new fresh air ventilation system was provided with heat recovery and comfort cooling provided with the addition of DX cooling to the AHU. A new LED lighting installation was provided with dimmable control to allow a range of uses in the lecture space. Electrical power points were provided along the desk spaces for students to charge laptops and other equipment. A speech reinforcement system was provided as part of the CAT B fitout.
