Congratulations to our award-winning Apprentice!

Congratulations to INTOHEAT’s own apprentice Mike Fathers, who was awarded 2nd Year Electrical Apprentice 2019 at On Site Bristol’s Annual Apprentice Awards. Mike won the award on 13th November at Ashton Court Mansion after being selected from a pool of talented nominees.

The Annual Apprentice Awards recognise exceptional skills, dedication and achievement of On Site Bristol apprentices across trades such as plumbing, brickwork and electrical services. Each year, apprentices and employers are nominated for each of the 17 award categories, hoping to be acknowledged for excellence. Even being nominated for an Annual Apprentice Award is deemed a great achievement, therefore all nominees receive a certificate to recognise and appreciate their commendable ability.

Preceding the awards, presented by Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Cleo Lake, Councillor Anna Keen gave her inspiring keynote speech, in which she praised apprentices and employers alike. Speaking on behalf of Bristol City council, Councillor Anna Keen, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, applauded the accomplishments of On Site Bristol and its continued dedication to supporting young people in acquiring valuable skills. Councillor Anna Keen also expressed hope for the future, wishing all apprentices success in the continuation of their careers.

On Site Bristol was set up in 1996 to help young people in and around Bristol get hands-on experience and training for jobs. Created as an extension of Bristol City Council apprenticeships specialising in construction, On Site Bristol has grown exponentially, currently with over 300 apprentices on their programme under 200 different employers. On Site Bristol aims to support apprentices from the start to the very end, aiding with applying, finding employers and interview techniques. Training Officers are assigned to each apprentice throughout their training to offer advice and support.

INTOHEAT, Bristol based mechanical and electrical engineers, are proud to inspire the next generation of engineers. The award Mike Fathers achieved is testament to his hard work, enthusiasm and skill shown during his time at INTOHEAT.

Well done Mike!
