Project Description.

Situated in the heart of the City Centre and located in a shared facility, the project included a full refurbishment of the store, alongside significant decarbonisation works via a new water source heat pump, water cooled fridge circuit and DX Condensers feeding the main AHU. The natural refrigerant R1270 fridge cabinets rejected heat energy to the water-cooled fridge circuit serving the sales floor cabinets and cold-rooms. This waste heat energy was then utilised within the water source heat pump to provide elevated water temperatures for use within the existing LTHW heating system, enabling existing emitters to be retained, reducing installation cost and whole life carbon emissions. The scope also included the installation of a dry air cooler, DX condensers feeding a refurbished sales floor AHU, a new heat recovery ventilation system as well as a refresh to the colleague areas.
