Our Chairman John Rankin, who is still heavily involved with all the day-to-day business activities, formed INTOHEAT Ltd in 1986. Since then, we have constantly pushed for excellence in engineering, designing, delivering and maintaining the highest quality Mechanical & Electrical works.
To this day, the same principles remain the driving force towards our mission to become the largest independent M&E building services organisation in the South West of the UK.

John Rankin
Chairman
John has over 38 years’ experience in the industry and was one of the original founders of INTOHEAT.
John has seen many changes since its humble beginnings as a small local Plumbing & Heating contractor and has immense pride in having watched it grow into one of the most successful Building Services businesses in the South West.
Steve Carter
Director (Exeter Office)
With over three decades of experience within the South West building services industry, Steve is a key figure in the ongoing management and success of INTOHEAT.
Since the inception of INTOHEAT’s Exeter office a decade ago, Steve has been instrumental in steering the company towards excellence across all sectors, including Education, Healthcare, Commercial and Industrial markets.
Rob Pammenter
Director (Exeter Office)
Rob has a proven track record of safe & successful multidiscipline building services delivery with customer service at the heart throughout the South West and beyond.
With over 30 years of industry experience, and jointly responsible for successfully establishing INTOHEAT’s Exeter office over 10 years ago, Rob drives to maintain the highest standards across the whole business.
Dave Short
Director of Facilities Management
With over 40 years experience in the industry, specialising in the service and maintenance of all HVAC, mechanical and electrical equipment.
Dave worked his way through the ranks of maintenance manager, regional manager, and operations manager before becoming Director of Facilities Management in 2023.
Shane Head
Director of Retail
Shane has over 20 years’ experience working in the construction industry, with 14 of those years specifically working within the retail sector.
After joining the business in 2013, Shane has successfully supported the board in building a retail arm within INTOHEAT.
Shane is responsible for delivering all retail projects and has worked in collaboration with his clients to help them save energy and reduce their annual spend, alongside bringing improvements to maintenance and asset lifespan of all INTOHEAT-supplied works.
