June Recognition Awards
At INTOHEAT, we take immense pride in recognising those who go above and beyond in their roles. Each month, we highlight individuals who demonstrate outstanding initiative, dedication, and care for their colleagues. June was no exception, with Ashley Down being awarded Amazon vouchers in recognition of their exceptional responses in challenging situations.
June winner: Ashley Down, Site Supervisor
On 30th June, we had a team working on site at Exeter University, undertaking electrical works that required access to the ceiling void. During the removal of metal pan ceiling tiles to gain access, a nearby tile unexpectedly fell, injuring Ethian Webb, one of our apprentices, who was assisting the electrician at height, causing a laceration on his arm.
Ashley Down immediately arranged first aid and advised Ethian to attend Exeter A&E. Ashley then notified both the Client and INTOHEAT via the QR code system. Further to this, Ashley obtained witness statements and produced a full accident report, which provided valuable support to our H&S department. In the hospital, Ethian received stitches and was then discharged the same day, returning to normal duties the following day.
Ashley’s quick thinking and professional handling of the situation were recognised by Directors Steve Carter and Rob Pammenter, with Rob presenting Ashley with his award in person. Ashley reflected on the incident, stating: “Safety isn’t just about avoiding accidents; it’s about creating a culture where we speak up and look out for each other. I reported the incident, not merely because we needed to, but because every voice matters in keeping us all safe.”

Celebrating a Culture of Care
This incident highlights what we value most at INTOHEAT: a team that supports each other, acts responsibly, and puts safety and well-being first. Thank you to Ashley for exemplifying those values and for the professionalism you bring to work each day.
