INTOHEAT are pleased to share that we are taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge in association with the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
As a business working in a fast-paced industry, we recognise that finding balance can be tough. With pressures surrounding health and safety, budgets, and deadlines, the construction and building services industry is challenging.
Neglecting mental health within the construction industry has serious consequences and we at INTOHEAT are keen to highlight this. The statistics surrounding it are alarming with it being tagged as the “silent epidemic”.
Did you know that men in the construction sector are three times more likely to commit suicide than men who work in other industries?
We at INTOHEAT are on a mission to change the mindset within the construction industry and hope we can set an example for others.
This October, INTOHEAT have twelve members of staff varying in age from 23 to 62 years old who will be attempting to climb the highest three UK peaks in under 24 hours! These will be climbed in the order of Ben Nevis, the highest peak in Scotland and the UK, Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the highest peak in Wales.
Our chosen charity is CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), who are a suicide prevention charity. CALM provokes conversation, runs life-saving services, and brings people together so they can reject living miserably, get help when they need it and live healthier and happier lives. Just £12.20 is enough for CALM to fund one potentially life-saving call!
