National College for Nuclear Wins Project of the Year.

Now running for the sixteenth year in a row, last Thurday’s Michelmores Property Awards proved itself once again as the South West’s most prestigious property competition, showcasing the very best of the region’s projects, buildings and businesses. This year, the awards were open to a whole range of industry professionals such as contractors, developers and architects to nominate what they considered to be the most oustanding projects across the whole of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Bristol.

INTOHEAT are delighted to announce that one of our biggest Mechanical and Electrical installation projects of the year, the National College for Nuclear, was just awarded Project of the Year (over £5m) in partnership with Midas Group.

Opened in February 2018, this £7.5m, state-of-the-art college campus located in Cannington, Somerset, plans to house the training of the majority of the workforce for Britain’s nuclear industry and includes a virtual reality environment, a reactor simulator and training rooms, sports facilities and student accommodation. Dame Sue Ion, who officially opened the college in Cumbria, stated:

“This new training facility will provide access to world-class technology to individuals looking to start or further develop their career in the nuclear industry… It is an exciting time for the industry, and it is encouraging to see investments by government, industry and academia into facilities like the NCfN. The nuclear sector is really taking an active role in training the workforce of tomorrow.”
